Advance termite bait system contains monitoring stations (from ten to twenty) which contain wood base and termite inspection cartridge; six termite bait cartridges which you will use if termite activity is present; and one spider access tool which will help you to get easy access to bait stations.
There are some additional parts which can be bought together with advance termite bait system. These are:
- additional bait stations which contain wood;
- additional advance termite bait cartridge.
Termite bait cartridges’ active ingredient is diflubenzuron. When this chemical gets to termite body, it acts very slowly. That gives the opportunity to transfer the chemical to the rest of the colony and after some time the whole colony dies.
Attention! You should remember that advance termite bait system itself will not solve termite problem; it is perfect for termite prevention and together with non-repellents such as Termidor and Premise.Here you can learn more information about another termite bait systems: Green, CSIRO, Nemesis, Exterra, Firstline, Terminate. How to use advance termite bait system: instructions?
There are two different ways of how the advance termite bait system can be used, depending on purposes:
- pre-bait;
- direct bait.
Pre-bait is used when termites have not been noticed yet, but you think that that might happen. This type of bait consists of wood base and inspection cartridge. Inspection cartridge needs to be replaced once in three months.
If you notice termite infestation, you should replace inspection cartridge with the bait cartridge which should be replaced once in six months.
Direct bait does not have any inspection cartridge, just the bait cartridge itself.
Direct bait should be located in places where you think termites might locate their nest. Bait cartridge is to be replaced every six months.
Advance termite bait system has a special spider access tool which makes the access to cartridges easier, so, do not forget to use it.
Advice! Do not forget to read label instructions carefully before you start using advance termite bait system.When you see that you have dealt with termite infestation and all the colonies are eliminated, you can replace termite bait cartridge with termite inspection cartridge and repeat the process as many times as you need.
Like the majority of termite baits advance termite bait system has vertical slot but it is larger in size. This helps to create better wood-to-soil contact. This is how the bait attracts more termites and works more effectively.

How to use spider access tool?
Spider access tool comes with inspection and bait cartridges and is used to open advance termite bait stations. This is a special tool which makes opening process faster and easier. If you use spider access tool, you do not have to use your hands and there is less possibility that you somehow contaminate the station.
Spider access tool is made of heavy duty material and is very easy to use, especially because it has a special handle. Furthermore, spider access tool makes the whole inspection process faster because spider access tool grabs the cover of inspection cartridge and keeps holding while you are examining the station.
When you are going to use spider access tool, just take it using a handle and place on the top of the termite bait or inspection station. Then grab the cover of cartridge and with a turn of the wrist take it off for the inspection.
How does it work?
Termites always eat only wood or any other cellulose materials.
Furthermore, they have a special connection between each other what makes them able to “communicate” all the time and have a special channel for feeding.
As soon as termites find a place to eat, they mark it with a special pheromone which the rest of the colony will follow.
So, termite detection stations which have wood base have been created for these purposes. This type of wood is also called detection wood. Stations attract termites and encourage them for further feeding.
As soon as you notice termite infestation, you can replace detection wood with a chemical. It is important that termites should not detect this chemical. Here you will need to use non-repellent chemical which has no color and smell and termites are not able to see it.It is really important to use exactly this type of chemical because if you decide to use repellent one, termites will feel it and start looking for other ways paying no attention to the bait. Of course, non-repellent chemical will not act really fast.
Furthermore, it will mostly attack workers. But infected workers will transfer the chemical to “healthy’ ones and later all the workers will die. The point is that workers feed the whole colony, so, without workers soldiers and queens start using their internal recourses.
Sooner or later all the recourses will be exhausted and the rest of the colony will die of starvation. This is the way advance termite bait system works.
How to install bait system?
Advance termite bait system should be installed around perimeter of the house. At the beginning, you will need to dig a hole in the soil (you can use some instruments) and then place the station. The distance between stations can be about ten to fifteen feet.
You will also have to measure approximately three feet away from the foundation. Advance termite bait system will attract termites before they reach the house. Finally, advance termite bait system is very easy to use and fast to install.
It takes about forty five minutes (sometimes less) to install the system; and you will spend about twenty minutes for inspection.
